General Information & Frequently Asked Questions

  • Barton Glen Club, Inc. is governed by the Board of Directors and managed by our Property Manager.

  • The by-laws are our official rules and procedures. They were revised at the 2021 annual meeting. Please read them. If you do not have a copy of our by-laws, please request them from our manager. Violation of our by-laws and rules may result in fines or community privileges being suspended.

  • Invoices are sent in December, and dues are payable no later than February 28th of each year. Annual dues are an obligation under your deed. We have the lowest community dues in the Poconos, and there have been no increases in the last 12 years. There was a reduction in 2009. Our annual dues is $320. The Board is not proposing an increase in the future. Our financial status is very healthy.

  • Please obey the posted speed limits. We do not own the roads, with the exception of a very small portion of Merry Hill Road, and the road that runs along the lake to the beach. Anyone that knows of a road hazard should immediately call 911 if the situation is dangerous and the local township office (Jackson or Pocono). If you are not sure who to call, just call the township you think is correct. They work together on our roads and are well aware of our unique road situation. The borders of Jackson and Pocono Township run irregularly throughout Barton Glen.

  • Each resident should hire a trash removal company. You can contact your township for the list of approved trash removal companies.

The bins at the pool and lake are not for personal use of residents.

We have a litter problem in Barton Glen. Please make every effort to pick up stray trash along the roads.

  • Our lake and pool area are open to all residents. A Photo ID issued by Barton Glen, or a Barton Glen Guest Pass is required to use the pool and lake. No motorized boats are allowed at the lake.

Dogs are not allowed at the Pool or Lake.

Refer to our Amenities page for more information.

  • You must first get permission and/or permits as required, from your township. Please then call us to get our permission as well. We have our own rules applicable to sheds and garages. Our rules are very close to that of the townships, and are in place to ensure that a proper set-back is in place when selecting the location of your shed or garage.

  • You can rent the clubhouse for private parties. Call us for details and availability.

    A security deposit is required.

  • PLEASE REFER TO OUR BY LAWS FOR DETAILS.

We have noise/activity restrictions for construction, recreational vehicles and nuisance, please refer to by-laws.

Our by-laws do state that chainsaws, power tools and other noise producing activities are restricted to between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM with the exception of snow removal equipment.

Outdoor music, audio equipment and such nuisances will be limited to the hours of 9:00 AM to 10:30PM.

Prolonged dog barking for more than 20 minutes is considered a nuisance noise.

Noise complaints or violations should be reported to Barton Glen management and the township. We have no means of enforcement other than a fine. Please don’t call the manager and expect an immediate response. Our intervention is by means of a letter to the person who may be in violation of our rules. It is your right to call the police if you feel the noise created by your neighbor is a nuisance. We believe the best way to solve a barking dog problem is to have a friendly discussion with your neighbor/dog owner as the first step. That usually works.

  • Pursuant to Pennsylvania law, all dogs in public must be on a leash. We require you to pick up after your dog immediately. Dogs are not allowed at the Pool or Lake.

  • If you sell your property, you must obtain a Resale Certificate from Barton Glen. Before one is issued, all dues and fines must be fully paid.

  • You must reserve the picnic areas at the pool and or lake if your party exceeds 15 people. Contact our manager. We have never denied such a request, but management does like to be kept informed of large gatherings.

If you own a home that you rent to others, you must provide Barton Glen with your renter’s information before your stickers are upgraded. Also, if you want your tenants to have pool, lake, and playground privileges instead of you, Barton Glen needs it in writing before issuing passes or stickers.
